Our educational and nonprofit consulting services build on the concepts and practices presented in Howard Stevenson’s Getting to Giving book, and leverage our team members’ extensive experience.
We recently conducted a webinar on “First Dates,” in which Howard pointed out some common problems with “pitches,” and offers tips and tricks for first encounters with potential donors. That “first date” is a critical step in the courtship process, and can be daunting.

Talks and training
G2G’s overview talk offers the core ideas and illustrative stories presented in the book, tailored to your organization and audience. It can be conducted via webinar or a live session, with opportunity for questions and answers.
We also offer training that expands on the overview talk, using a building block approach that allows you to focus on or combine any number of fundraising topics. Programs can be half-day, full-day or multi-session.
Some illustrative examples:
- For leadership teams (including board members and senior nonprofit executives) at a variety of organizations, we have delivered talks and short programs with case studies.
- For development professionals at major arts institution, we developed and delivered a half day program for over 200 participants.
- For volunteer fundraisers at a large educational institution, we provide virtual learning and face-to-face training sessions on an ongoing basis.
Based on your organization and its needs, we will help define learning objectives, and custom design an experience for your audience. Our interactive approach fosters team building, and includes large and small group activities, and case study discussions.
Nonprofit Consulting and advisory services
